About

TLDR

  • My goals in life include:
  • Sharpen multiple disciplines in regards to art and education -> create and showcase the potential of film comics -> inspire people to be sincere and create their own stories -> decrease barriers of entry into the entertainment industry.

What Are film comics?

  • Film comics combines the concept of a comic/graphic novel and a video/movie.
  • Instead of being able to see all of the panels all at once like a traditional book, the video displays each panel one at a time.
  • The digital aspect of film allows creators to add music, sound effect, as well as voice acting to a series of still images. You can even add animation if you have the budget and time.

Why film comics?

  • Film comics are extremely friendly towards independent creators, as drawing is the only skill you really need. On the other hand media such as movies and animations are a herculean task due to their high production costs, thus creating a high barrier to entry.
  • Film comics is a quick and and economic way to pitch ideas before committing to large scale projects such as an animation. With this in mind, they still require lifelong dedication to the craft, just not an unreasonable amount.
  • Film comics are an underutilized piece of media in entertainment.

What is your film comic about?

  • I am currently blueprinting my film comic The Postscript Supper.
  • Premise:
    • Two boys dedicate their youth to streaming food vlogs. They will do anything to generate views, memories, as well as taste the finest, most coveted cuisine Sycamore Drive has to offer.
    • Everyone in Sycamore Drive is assigned a Guardian Angel. Guardian Angels monitor their assigned person to track their safety. They have the ability to avert death, but they can only perform this skill once, and the timing must be precise.
    • In certain cases, Guardian Angels can grant abilities.
    • As a result of this, residents tend to live life much more impulsively.

This is the world the story takes place.

  • Each plane represents a unique and distinct world called Drives.
  • The Drives come together to form a Crystalline Octahedron shape.

This is a draft of Sycamore Drive

  • Sycamore Drive is roughly the size of Earth, and it is one big landmass.
  • Each square represents each server (nation).
    • Each server operates under one global administration, but hey have a lot of autonomy. A server has its own unique environment, creatures, culture, etc.
    • Every server comes with a Raid Boss, a powerful organism that greatly shapes the identity of each server. If the Raid Boss is destroyed, the server shuts down, allowing for other servers to absorb it.
  • Instead of an ocean like on Earth, the land is surrounded by Concrete, an unbreakable substance. Anything non-organic in the presence of Concrete disintegrates, making it extremely difficult to traverse. Little is known what is beyond the Concrete. Anything supernatural probably originated from there.
  • In the middle of the map, there is a cube representing 3 superimposed servers. You can swap between them at anytime and anywhere as long as you are in that location.
